The FAQ
When Should I Book my Newborn session?
To guarantee you get a spot for a newborn session, I recommend booking your session as soon as you have had your 20 week scan
When is the best Time to photograph my newborn?
It is never too late to have your baby photographed. It is important to manage expectations of a session. Curly sleepy newborn photos are never guaranteed but usually achieved with baby under 2 weeks old.
How many images do you provide for a Newborn Session?
Sessions can be anywhere from 1-3 hours and the amount of images taken depends on how well the newborn is doing during the transitioning of the poses. A newborn solo session can have anywhere from 50-100 images taken, where as a family newborn session can have anywhere from 75-200 images taken. I will go thru your session images and eliminate any duplicates or blurry images and remove them prior to uploading you gallery. You will then see a "soft edit" and once you choose your images in your package, the editing process will begin.
Whats your turn around time?
I understand the anticipation of seeing your final photos. The editing process typically takes 2-3 weeks, depending on the volume of images and the complexity of editing required.
how old should be my baby for a sitter session
The best time to photograph a sitter session is typically when a baby is between 6 to 9 months old.
This is the age range when most babies can sit up unassisted but aren't yet crawling away. By this age, babies are usually very expressive and interactive, smiling and engaging more with the camera. They're often curious about their surroundings.
The sitter session is perfect to capture their emerging personality and those heartwarming milestones!
When should I book my Cake Smash session?
To ensure availability for a Cake Smash session, it is advisable to book the session at least 1-2 months before your child's birthday.
What should we wear?
For family portraits, I suggest wearing clothing within the same color palette and avoiding overly patterned or designed garments. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!
Hygiene & Safety
I wash and sanitize my hands before every session
In the studio I always wash newborn outfits or garments - basically anything that touches the skin of a baby during a newborn session is cleaned before I use it again
It is important to understand that I take baby safety very seriously. Most complicated images are composites and not all babies are able to bend in all poses. We will always discuss before we start on how to achieve certain poses. More often then not the poses requires a "spotter" (the aid of a parent).
